This blog is about random thoughts of a pal whose nick is Palprot.

I love tech and what it empowered us to do over the last few generations.

But what I love even further is Freedom (with a capital F). That's also why I've always been very supportive of open source software: Freedom to get, to use, to modify... regardless of where you live and how much money you have or earn. True knowledge sharing without barriers.

But these days, we increasingly see incompatibility, with fascism on the rise, tech supporting totalitarian regimes spreading across the globe, even in the Western world--which had convinced us all that it would be the safeguard against such abuses and the true bearer of light to the world... well, I guess we are entering dark ages.

Unless we choose otherwise. Because--I may be daydreaming but--I firmly believe we still have a voice in this chapter. Democracies are not dead, they are struggling.

So, yeah, some posts will be about my core business (tech and cyber), while others will probably touch upon a broader range of topics in geopolitics. Because, well... tech is increasingly instrumentalized by evil governments and we--the people, to borrow words from a famous constitution--have to stand up for our rights and defend Freedom, Democracies, and a better future for the generations to come!

May we shed a bit of light over the darkness of ignorance.
